How we 2x Organic Traffic In 6-Months

This website is a global SAAS company. We started working with them in September 2020, they had an average of 41k monthly visitors. Pretty solid number, however there was potential for so much more!

This specific client has many years of experience and they were producing great content in their niche. We knew that we had a chance of ranking for almost any keyword in their niche over time.
However they had some major problems such as unoptimized content, Technical issues, plus they needed more quality links.

Implementing an in-depth content audit

We started by identifying all the best content assets on their blog from a traffic standpoint (with Google Analytics and Google Search Console). They had hundreds of blog posts, but few of them were getting consistent traffic.
After that, we identified content that didn’t have potential, so we ended up with 2 categories:

  • Content that had potential which needed to be updated, optimized and republished
  • Thin and duplicate content that needed to be deleted

By the end of the content audit, we only had valuable and SEO-driven content that was relevant to the readers.

Recommending SEO-friendly content on a regular basis

When we say SEO friendly, we mean content that is based on thorough keyword research. So before recommending any content ideas for our client, we did an in-depth keyword research to find the best opportunities while also basing it on a competitive analysis.

Ongoing link building outreach:

For this client, we knew that the content audit and the recommendations we made wouldn't cut it and won’t get us to double the organic traffic. We needed to get more links, therefore, we started working on link building.
These are the link building strategies, we implemented:

  • Skyscraper Technique
  • Brand Targeting
  • Broken Link Building

Results

Over a period of 6 months, we were able to double our client’s organic traffic which went from 41K to 80K monthly visitors. Not only that, but we also added 200 new referring domains and increased their SQL by 30% over the same period of time!
